Hotel Receptionist

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Hotel Receptionist to join our team. As the first point of contact for hotel guests, the hotel Receptionist has a key role in maintaining the high level of service we strive for. This a busy and rewarding role, and would suit a personable and well-organised individual who is passionate about customer service and committed to ensuring guest satisfaction.

  • Answering the switchboard in a friendly and efficient manner as detailed in the SOP manual.
  • Ensuring all calls are passed to the relevant department/persons.
  • Have full up-to-date knowledge of the hotel and services.
  • Take reservations and enter bookings into the system.
  • Allocating guest rooms and checking guests in.
  • Liaising with Housekeeping throughout the course of the shift informing them of room moves, special requests, extra departures etc to ensure no problems occur.
  • Assisting guests with any queries throughout their stay.
  • Checking guests out and ensuring bills are paid and receipted correctly.
  • Balancing cash and bills at the end of each shift.
  • Responsible for the float while on duty.
  • Keeping the desk clean and tidy.
  • Assist when needed to take luggage to bedrooms.
  • Maximise selling opportunities by adding customer value at every opportunity.
  • Handling customer complaints promptly and professionally, demonstrating genuine customer care.
  • Adhering to the correct uniform/appearance policy and maintaining personal hygiene at all times
  • Undertake any other duties requested by management.
  • Comply with all legal requirements in respect of health, safety and welfare of staff and customers.
  • All staff of the company are required to make themselves available for training and communication meetings, for which advance notice will normally be given.
  • All staff must attend fire training as required by law, and be familiar with the departmental responsibilities.
