QUAYSPA AND COUNTRYCLUB

Monday 17 March 2008

A NEW spa and country club is set to open in July creating 80 new jobs.

The QuaySpa and Country Club will be at the Lion Quays Hotel.

The 4,500 sq m development stands within the 18 acre grounds of Lion Quays with unique aspects - 20 spacious, secluded lodges set around a featured lake built as a nature reserve yet offering clients a tranquil setting.

The owners say they have carefully researched the spa and leisure markets to create a truly stunning venue to host country club membership for the local community, day spa packages and residential spa breaks. A traditionally styled building will inside blend traditional oak beams with a contemporary design to create what is already being considered the leading spa and country club in Shropshire.

Country club members will enjoy a TechnoGym(TM) Gymnasium with over 70 pieces of equipment, dance and aerobic studio, spinning room, 25m swimming pool, jacuzzi with poolside steam and sauna rooms, tennis courts and bowling greens along with an Italian bistro and bar area with an outdoor balcony overlooking the adjacent countryside.

Spa visitors will indulge in a journey of the senses with a unique collection of heat and ice therapies in the Thermal Suite including the UK's first Snow Paradise. Other facilities include the privacy for robed guests of a private dining area, sun meadow, relaxation rooms, 15 treatment rooms, rasul mud chamber and a VIP suite avaliable for private hire and featuring dual therapy treatment rooms.

Once inside the spa, guests enter into a haven of relaxation where the emphasis is on relaxation and therapeutic treatments are offered by the skin care ranges of Babor and Decleor.

Nick Dulson, Proprietor said: "We recognised the importance the spa business now has on tourism in the UK and we wanted to build a spa and country club that offered members a fantastic club atmosphere that they felt was 'theirs'. Building for the future, the design encompasses both these aspects and we are confident that QuaySpa and Country Club will become a leader in the spa and country club business within the tourism industry".

The venture will also bring additional employment to the area, seeking to employ some 80 staff over the QuaySpa and Country Club as well as introducing a central reservations centre for Lion Quays Hotel, QuaySpa and Country club and the company's other property, Moreton Park Lodge.
