Lion Quays Waterside Resort announces the appointment of a new Head Chef

Sumit Chakrabarty recently joined the team here at Lion Quays Waterside Resort as Head Chef, Sumit is leading the teams at both Restaurants – The Waterside and Nico’s Brasserie.

Sumit Chakrabarty celebrated double success during his time at Smiths Hotel, Grenta, Scotland; winning a second AA rosette for the restaurant and receiving a commendation at the Scottish Hotel ‘Oscars’ as Rising Star Hotel Chef of the Year. Most recently celebrating when he and his team won Best Chefs Team in 2010 in the Scottish Hotel ‘Oscars’.

Our new Head Chef comes from a well established background and has worked alongside award-winning Michelin starred Chef’s and Restaurants including Gordon Ramsey at Claridges in London, Mark Sargeant , George Blanc on Carnival Cruise Lines Miami and was Charge Chef at the two Rosette Cameroon Restaurant at Hilton Glasgow.

Sumit says “I’m excited to join the team at Lion Quays Resort. My team and I are looking forward to making sure both of our Restaurants make their own mark in the gastronomic world! Keep a look out new for my new exciting menu’s coming soon...”

Sumit and his team take pride in their work, preparing the food to order, using fresh and the best locally sourced ingredients. Menu’s include an eclectic mix of British and European dishes and are tailored to suit the season.

When you’re looking for a more intimate venue, Nico’s Brasserie is the perfect choice. The menu is prepared in a contemporary open kitchen; you can enjoy a range of dishes from around the world. Dine al fresco on the terrace overlooking the tennis courts and nearby golf course.
