Nordic walking is a specific fitness technique originating from Finland and is not to be confused with trekking! This form of exercise is great for everyone – you’ll learn how to use the poles to maximize your workout even though it feels easy! The benefits of working outdoors are positive and unchallenged, and they show great results - we provide the poles if you don’t have your own.
A fitness class for children age 9-15 years old. Junior members can spend an hour working out with our fully qualified, CRB checked junior instructor. Includes aerobic and cardio exercise, flexibility, balancing skills and team orientated activities.

Core And Flexibility
This mat-based workout incorporates exercises designed to improve core stability and posture. Ideal for members with back problems.
Utilizing stretching alone is not always enough to release muscle tightness. Foam rolling can assist in breaking up these muscle knots, resuming normal blood flow and function. This class focuses on releasing trigger points in the muscles to help re-establish proper movement patterns and pain free movement - ultimately enhancing performance.
Body Assault Circuits
This H.I.I.T orientated class is for those hardcore enough to take up the challenge and be put through their paces and pushed to their physical limits.
High intensity interval training: short, intense bursts of exercise followed by short periods of recovery - not for the faint hearted!
Come rain, hail or shine this is the time and place to work hard and train! This is a full body workout leaving you energised and ready to face the day ahead.
This isn’t for the faint hearted spinner! This is a hard-core spin class filled with lots of high intensity and demanding features to really get your lungs and legs working.

Tennis at Lion Quays Hotel & Spa comes alive in the summer months and we like our loyal and core tennis members to be involved with the preparation, planning and promotion of all our tennis events.
Members will have complimentary use of the tennis courts at all times; however any bookings will take precedence over this. If not booked, members risk not being able to use the courts. An equipment hire fee is charged if you don’t bring your own – and you can buy tennis balls too, if required.
We offer a variety of group sessions during the summer, junior coaching, team lessons, and social evenings.

Lion Quays Hotel & Spa features a well maintained artificial Crown Bowling Green set in the picturesque setting of our Hotel & Spa grounds. The club's bowling green and club facilities are ideal for corporate and social bowling matches throughout the summer months.
You can enjoy a drink and a chat in Nico's after the game - and we’re happy to cater for corporate and social events.
The Green is always available for informal practice or games when no matches or formal practice sessions are scheduled. Members will have complimentary use of the bowling green for singles matches; however any bookings will take precedence over this. If they don’t book, members risk not being able to use the Green.

The benefits of Sports Massage Therapy are exceptional. Whether you are coming back from recent injury or a long term postural/physical problem or simply suffering with the tension and stresses of everyday life, sports massage therapy can help.
It is designed to prepare you for your best performance, reduce fatigue, and relieve muscle swelling and tension. During physical activity—especially strenuous activity—muscle tension builds up in the body’s soft tissues. Due to overextension or overuse, minor injuries and lesions occur in these tissues that can cause a great deal of pain and/ or result in poor performance. Sports massage helps alleviate pain and prevent such injuries that greatly affect flexibility, mobility, response time, and overall performance in athletic events.
